guy is asking 2 grand for it and it's not got a part left on it stripped bare
$2000, I mean it depends what you want it for, to restore it back to original its worth $18K and will cost you $30K and a lot of work to get it there. To make a retro rod super bee clone, yea, it can be done, how much metal work does it need.
To me that would be the only use for that car a pro touring rig, figure it this way
$2K for the car.
$5K to get the body ready for paint (depending on the rot)
$5K for paint
$2K for brakes
$3K for rear end
$2K for tires and wheels
$5K for interior
$10K for motor and tranny
$3k for suspension
$1200 for glass
$1000 for wiring
$1000 for fuel, brake, ebrake lines
$1000 for AC
$4K for missing parts (tail panel, tail lights, hood, bumpers, steering comps, etc)
that will put you around $45K, but a retro rod if you pick nice stuff and do it tastefully can be worth $75K, sadly that is where these small block and base cars make most sense...
You need to pick the right tires/wheels, stance, and do the interior right, also the color, you need something that someone will like, a bad *** green comes to mind...
Heres the key things to make it work, Big Block fuel injection, aluminum radiator with electric fans, ss everything, air conditioning, digital gauges, hid lights, low pro wide tires, updated suspension, tinted glass, 4 wheel disc, lowered stance, sleek modern interior, over drive automatic or 5-6 speed manual, and the little touches, like painted mirrors, blacked out trim, led lights, loud stereo, 5 point harnesses, etc etc etc...
Protourings cost to build, BUT some stuff you save on, like you can just paint the vent windows where its normally $400 to chrome them or $600 for repops, that goes for a lot of the chrome, you can paint the bumpers with satin silver aluminum color and no one cries about it, the tail panel can be painted body color or satin black, the grilles can be all black, you can use any hood, no one cares about fresh air units, just what looks good, a $999 fuel injection system vs $3500 on a 6 pack, a 77 truck block because no one cares about date or numbers matching, its a total different build, I have done them all, and its less stressful that is for sure, painless wiring kit for $400 vs thousands on oem or rebuilt wiring, a basic console shifter box vs spending $1500 on a stock type, $200 seats vs $800 just for covers, I say it about averages out, except the resale value and driveability is much better..
It can be fun and right now they fetch a lot of attention, IMO that tpe of car is the perfect candidate for something like that, 318 nothing special, not much there to start with so you arent tossing much away...
As far as the price, the fenders and grilles are worth $1500...
