thinking about adding one to my car,i was wondering what you members thought on that. thanks
This is the kind that bolts to the floor on my 63.The box said Year One on it. Came with a package deal I bought about 10 years ago.Fit real nice.On my 65 I have the one that bolts to the tranny cross member. No holes drilled in the floor. That I like.Sorry I don't have a photo of it.View attachment 893011
You're absolutely right. If I remember correctly, about 8 inches from the front.A driveshaft loop is for the front u-joint, they don't care about the rear one. If the rear breaks, the shaft usually just slides out, no harm,no foul. If the front breaks, they don't want the shaft to drop to the ground and pole-vault the car. That's why it has to be near the front u-joint.
6" from the centerline of the front U-joint Maximum! You're absolutely right. If I remember correctly, about 8 inches from the front.
These are great if you don't want/can't fabricate your own. I have a GV OD unit so I am on my own in this situation.Us Car Tool and Mancini has the bolt to cross member ones.

If your going to use the throttle PUT one on. If the front u-joint or the shaft fails. Will cause lots of damage.thinking about adding one to my car,i was wondering what you members thought on that. thanks
