Tiki bars - who’s got them?

This is the one I built in 2018, after putting in our new patio. It is framed with pressure treated wood and sided with concrete panels on 3 sides and a shower curtain on the 4th. The top is cast in place concrete and has an embedded utility sink. During parties, I plug the sink drain, fill it with ice and water and chill out the beer and water that I serve from the sink. Under the top is a mini-fridge and an ice machine. The roof was originally covered with woven grass, but it only looked good for 1.5 years. This was too costly and effort intense to replace every other year, so I got free bamboo from a neighbor. I haven’t quite finished installing the bamboo.

Hey, I’m not trying to just say “look what I got”, or to gather accolades. I started this thread to give anyone who wants a fun bar in their yard to see what options are out there. I hired a hardscape contractor to build the patio and he showed me his patio and outdoor kitchen. He had a sink in it and he told me that he gets almost no use of it. He suggested that it should have been utility sink size so it could be filled with ice and drinks. So that’s what I did. I will share sizes and specs if anyone is interested. The bar top is 4 feet by 8 feet. This is a good size, but make sure you pick the correct height and overhang for a bar too.

Yes, Hawk, Fratzog Lover, Mattax and Abody Joe (and another Mopar friend). Plus, you see my back sitting there (black FABO hat). We had several FABO and FBBO picnics at our house until Fratzog Lover moved to Alabama.

No bar, but I scavenged an "ultimate accessory" from my dumpster last year.

She's now stationed outside the entrance to my bays.

I'm thinking of adding a "drop quarter in bowl for protection" sign.

I've built a few bars in my life and I like it!! I've built one Tiki bar and it was a few houses ago and I left it. The guy that bought the house let everything outside go to hell, including the bar. I should have given it away before I moved. I bought steel roofing material to wrap it and the roof with. It was much smaller and had wheels to roll it around. It had a power cord to plug it in, to power it up. The corners were 2 inch PVC, with the backs cut out to fit on the corners, with bamboo shade material contact cemented on them. It was numbered and could be broke down and carried away. It was fun to build!!..........................................I'm not trying to just say “look what I got”, or to gather accolades. I always come across like that, but sharing is what this is all about. Thank you for sharing!!!!
