Well it's more of a state of mind than a calendar thing. My youngest has graduated College, and for the first time in 35 years (yes it's possible) I have no children in school/College. He's my Mopar buddy whom has always been there when I needed a hand. I have pictures when he was 2 " helping" me upholster the seats.
Just another kid with a degree, nah I have to admit he's kinda smart. Award after award, 3.5 GPA!! Just needs a job now. Anyone have need for a Mopar kid with a degree in Digital Film/Production from a good school in Philly???
Kinda proud of him......
Thanks, just had to share

Yeah, that may be where he ends up.
No worries, he lived in downtown Philadelphia for 3 years and still voted for DT.
Lost some friends, longtime GF, and a roommate over the whole thing. But he's got drive, morals, and is so stubborn. Can't imagine where he gets that.

Getting close to that as well my boys are finishing high school soon then off to school or ?
Sounds like you did well .

Must be nice.....in 2+ years my son will be hitting collage then 2 after that my daughter goes in....and she wants the high end school......im fifty and i feel like im about to get old.

It's starting to get lonely . I'm in Canada so we done hockey which leaves the wife and I nothing to do on weekdays ,weekends with them and now with getting jobs, girlfriends and friends they are out quite a bit .
Luckily for us our house is where they hang out quite often .
Your not getting old time to find hobbies and try to keep your kids hanging out .

we got dirt bike ,sleds ,mini bikes the dodge and others.....both kids are into .....they tell me when they get good jobs they are going to buy me a Hemi Cuda.....I kinda believe it

Congrats to you and the family, sounds like you raised them well. I'm almost there too. Son finished at Kettering last year, working full time and on his own for the most part. Daughter is working on dual majors at MSU, though she appears to be heading down the doctor path so probably another 4 or 5 years for her.

I almost called you Wacko too. I recall when I was a kid. My younger brother Chad was called Chad-a-Wack by Mom and Dad. That turned into Chadder and later....Whacker. He was approaching puberty when Mom liked calling him Whacker. He asked her to stop and because my Mom was a bit naive sometimes, she didn't see anything wrong with this "endearing" nickname.

Getting old. Damn it I don't like the sound of it either. I never had kids even though it was what I wanted. Our dogs come and go but I don't have kids to pass anything onto be it property, tools, cars or knowledge. Good for you M/W....Not everyone has the good fortune to have turned out well adjusted, productive kids. I'll bet it was equal parts of love and luck!

Congratulations Wacko, I know you have, and will have in the future, many great memories of your son.

I expect most of us on this website are getting on up in age by now. My kids (33 and 30) have been grown and gone for many years now. Neither are married, which may be a good thing in the long run. Both of my parents and my mother-in-law are still alive...a blessing and a curse in some respects. My Dad and my mother-in-law have advanced Alzheimer's and my Mom has advanced Parkinson's. We have our hands full, but I am a Christian and I believe that God has a purpose for everything.

It's hard when things happen to your parents , my mom had Alzheimer's and was hard for her and us .
My dad had the fortune of walking around one day then going to bed at night and passing in his sleep . Both lived till 90 .
Take care of yourselves and parents ..

You just got a HUGE raise.
Well, as long as he pays the loans back.....I'm co-signed forever if he doesn't. Hence the HELP, he needs a job!!
He's a good kid, and will land something big, I have faith in him.

Congrats to him, that is an accomplishment, good on you too Wako...
You should be proud, you must be a great dad...

You're correct Bud, I did start young, and ended late. Took a while to figure what was making all this happen - and how to stop.....
Had an older friend tell me once- "if you don't slow down, you're gonna screw yourself out of a place at the dinner table"

My boy is also finishing up at film school in Toronto. I'll be glad when he lands a job in the industry.
I hope your boy and mine enjoy this line of work for the rest of their lives. Earning a living doing something they love will likely never feel like work.
