Today I took the car out for spin. I took it to the car wash to rinse it down. I popped the hood to clean up the inner fenders and misc.. While we were driving home I kind of noticed slight slippage in the 727 when starting from a stop and shifting through 2&3. When I got home I checked the fluid and it was high on the stick, between a pint and a quart. I checked 4 times to make sure(yes in neutral warmed up). My first thought was water. I drained it( yes has drain plug deep pan). I got about 6 quarts, I put in new synthetic valvoline dex/merc. I started it, put it in gear and it grabbed instantly. I then put it in reverse and it clunked, back to drive no clunk, reverse clunk, drive no clunk. I got under the car to check u joint, at the trans no play in the joint but definite slight side to side and up and down play with a noticeable slight clunk. Trans was rebuilt 3years ago it's behind a 480 horse 550 lbs. torque 451. It had a performance rebuild done and has been great. The fluid looked brand new when I drained it. It also is not a manual valve body and has a screen instead of a filter. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance! Howard
