Transmission moves car on startup

Small flakes.

That's a start. Okay.
Even small flakes can turn into a big problem. How much time on the trans? Don't forget, fluid and flakes get to the converter, too. Depending on how much, can hang up valves in the shift body. No say...without looking. All kinds of good stuff.

It looked like a successful day mining. Decent size flakes, and gold colored. Plus the typical tiny black powdery filings that would normally be on a magnet if it had one.

Bronze...many bronze parts in the trans... bushings, spacers, washers.

If pan is still off try adjusting both bands & refill & retry. Only cost ya the gskt&fluid; ya never know but it doesn't sound real good.

From my understanding, to adjust the front band, don't you need to remove the valve body ?

Nope frt.band can be done with pan on, it's just in frt of shifter linkage. Low-rev band is too rear of valve body, but have to drop the pan for that.
