on my 69 bee i was cleaning the inside of the windshield and hit the trim that sits right above it and one of the screws fell out.i went to put it back in and can't get it to bite on anything, then noticed that all of them are loose.they don't seem to do anything but sit in the rubber seal.are there holes there somewhere?maybe some missing clips?thank you for any replies.david

There some tin saddlles behind it with hole for the screw.Sorta a cheesey setup, might be stripped out.try a bigger screw maybe.

Wannadrag - thanks for the info.i thought there had to be something up there.i don't think any of them are biting so makes me wonder if they are not there.

They need to be removed when instaling the new headliner and the ones removed cant be reused as they have some tabs that need to be bent.My guess would be they were never reinstalled and the trim was screwed into the windshield gasket.R/T Specialities has them and made to snap in place.$19.00 for the bunch.Just feel where the holes in your trim are and you should be able to locate the square holes. They actually help hold the headliner against the little picks.

Hello. I think this is the clips your looking for.

Thank you Dave, the picture explains why I had so much trouble getting the screws to grab onto something.messed around with it and got all but one of them to bite.

these have been a major pain in the A-- for me too, cant get mine to stay at all...

The new ones look sorta spring loaded and appear to snap in.I reused my old ones, drilled a 1/8" hole through the center, curled the tabs in towards the center and put them in and ran a sheet metal screw through the hole to expand the tabs.It worked and they are tight. Here is a pic of the new ones.
