Hi, almost finished rebuilding the front end on my 69 road runner. Due to rust i have replaced the upper control arms with new ones, however when i went to install them. I found they would not fit as they are a 1/4 of an inch bigger then the originals. (My car has not had sheet metal replaced at the front) Can somebody please measure the distance in which the upper control arm lives (from one caster bolt to the other) Also if someone can measure the inside from one cam eccentric to the other it would help me alot. (the final picture)
The black upper control arm is new it was bought from ebay. The link follows

Did i make a mistake and buy the wrong upper control arms (after the original look) and that is why they don't fit?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The plan was to finish the front end this weekend and turn the car around to start on the back but as it is 2pm sunday here i can't see that happening.
Thank you

i saw those on ebay and was a bit skeptical, because i was going to buy them for my 70 runner. they might be from a c-body being a bit bigger . i would get ahold of the dude and ask him for a return and to send the right ones this time!

ill measure my 70 and get back to ya!

that fit is pretty bad and makes you think you
got the wrong one.

it is par for most oversea's repop parts these days and why i
try to avoid them like the plague in the first place.

those originals don't look that bad
i would bead blast, refinish, new bushings and ball joint
them and re use them myself or if they have really bad pits
go find a better used set.

I loved the ones i got from just suspension. Could always do what flypaper suggested for this weekend so you can start on the back

i agree!
I`ve purchased a pair of those repro UCAs from ebay.
They are crap!

no it not possible to reuse the original control arms, (will post photos soon) rust has thinned the 5/16 outside wall down to 1/16. there is no longer any strength left in.

then it was me,i would begin the search for a good used pair.
repop parts always seem to disappoint 95% of the time
the list of the ones that will work with no headaches is very short.

when i first saw those, i thought hmmm
i should grab up a set
then common sense took over
thinking about my experiance with some of the repo junk i
have fought with in the past. lol

Have contacted the seller informed him they do not fit. Have given him photos showing size they are and what they should be. I was told he will check others and try fitting them to a 69 road runner within the next week. Seems like i get an apology and my money back without having lodging a paypal complaint. Hopefully the guy will check his parts before selling them to the unaware B/E bodies owners. Wishful think though.
Will update when the seller has been contacted again.

After much time wasting and almost abusive emails he has told me to send them back for a refund. I became abusive when the response to them not fitting was to "just hit till they go in." He clearly know nothing about cars if he is willing to force steering components together with the use of a hammer, This exact sentence was put in the email the response was to send them back.

Sorry for your troubles brother - if you need a pair of original arms in good shape I have a spare set
