so, my 72 charger has tubular uppers and regular lowers.. is this acceptable ? should I just complete to full upper/lower tubular ?

I would pull the lower control arms off and box them in. You can get the plates online or make them yourself if you have access to a welder, it’s pretty easy to fabricate. Here’s mine, I’ve also got firm feel tubular upper control arms.

I think the only company that makes tubular lowers is qa1.

Many have done uppers only. Some use the reinforcement plate on the factory lowers.
Either way tubular uppers and lowers if you want to spend the money.

Acceptable.... sure ! Reinforcing the lower is a great idea, an inexpensive method to beef up, assuming the bushings and lower ball joints are in good condition.

They seem to be, no play
