We used to give our teachers just a hard time......

That's what this world is coming to. Hope those that sought to steer the world in this direction enjoy it. They never seem to understand that it is their idiotic policies that are problem. It's always someone else's fault and they come up with new ways to make it even worse.

Well.......I did have an 11th grade lit teacher. She was an elderly white woman. She kept a bottle of gin in her desk and everybody knew it. We set out to routinely drive her to drink.....even more. I mean we weren't violent, but we were really BAD behaved. lol It was funny then, but lookin back on it, I feel bad now. She was really a nice old lady and we saw a weakness and went for it like the jugular.

Guys, that is NOT the future of this country. I'm an inner city high school teacher in NJ and I can say, the kids are generally great kids, yup, even in the inner city. They're caring, thinking young people, yup, even in the inner city. That story isnt our future.

My wife works for the office of the public defender juvenile division in Baltimore city. I can tell you for a fact, this story is rather tame compared to some of the crap I have heard. So you are right, that isnt our future. Its our present. Unless things change for the better, the future is worse. And honestly, is this a shocker after sandyhook? Or columbine?

Although I teach in a small Kansas town, I never see anything like that either. As a rule, the kids are pretty good. Middle schoolers are just squirrelly by nature though. I will say though, that the attitude that "it's someone else's fault" is rampant. Kids do not like to take responsibility for their actions.

it's just early indoctrination....

I hear ya, but your wife sees the worst of em. Even when we were kids, there were plenty of people to fill the jails. Sure, things change with the gay marriage issues, etc, (can you IMAGINE that during our childhood?) but our youth are honestly no different than back then. Sure, they play more video games and are less active, fatter, all that. But I at least was just as dopey as them... maybe more.
