My dash pad came in yesterday after waiting 2 months. Well after attempting to install nothing went as planned. First off I was told the pad had the metal core. That’s a lie. Second thing is it’s short on the passenger side from reaching the A pillar trim. Third thing is the new pad bolts don’t line up properly. I guess I should mention my pad is for my 70 road runner. The blue was spot on but damn, why go through the trouble to reproduce this product and not have it right? Has anyone else had this problem with the 70 reproduction dash pad? $500.00 dollar lesson on my part.
Guess I’ll check and see what else is out there. Rant over. PS. Can’t say who I bought it from but I’ll give you their initials. Year One.

Send it back to Kevin King and tell him it doesn't fit! Get your money back.... I did so with both PG Classics and Legendary's offerings.

Sorry Mike :BangHead:,send it back brother and start over. I hope mine from ABC Moparts is good.

Wayne were you saying you had the same problem with PG and Legendary?

Nope, I got my money back from both of them. PG had GREAT grain and no OE details for fit around the heater controls or at the A pillars. Legendary's pad, at almost double PG's price, was EXACT in OE details but had ZERO grain and they had no interest in making it better.

Bring yours over and let’s check it on my car. It pissed me off that the core wasn’t metal. I specifically asked twice.
I can drop it off to you and you can check that would be cool.

I have an ABC Moparts for 69. Really nice. If you need a core, I have one for the price of shipping.

Yep with the plastic cores the dash holes have to be reamed.

Damn thanks Mike, that’s very nice of you to offer but I have my original and an extra one. Thank you sir. I’m going to contact ABC on Monday. Looks like I’ll be dying one. Lol

Id like to see one of the BEA pads sometime if anyone wants to post some pics.
Or even the ABC one...

I put one from Classic Industries (everyone's favorite vendor:rolleyes:) on my '68 about 5-6 years ago. Metal core and fit the mounting studs just fine. It's not a 100% exact match when viewed next to an OEM piece, but it's very, very close. The only issue I had was, their shade of green didn't match the the rest of the factory interior very well. I sprayed it with some interior paint (Herb's, I think) and it's still good today... more than good enough for my car!

The one I purchased for my 68 from CI was fine. No problem. Black in color. The one I purchased for my 70 is the issue. 68 and 70 are different. I did measure my old one and it measured at 52” when I get back at the shop Monday I’ll measure the new one and see what’s up.
