My wife was out of town for a few of days, so I took a ride to the local sawmill and picked up some lumber for a long overdue project.
I fired up the shop and made a Mantel for the Fireplace. It's a little over 9 feet wide and 12" deep. It took longer to mill all the trim than it did to build the mantel itself. I used 5 different profiles so it was a bit time consuming. I managed to get it all done before she got back though. It's was a nice surprise for her when she walked in door and saw it.
I antiqued the wood and the finish a bit for an older, more rustic appeal. I wanted it to look more like it had always been there.

That is really nice! My fireplace is brick and so is the mantle and always wanted to cover the brick mantle with wood. At least I did get a heatilator built for it years ago....but it's been 7 years now since lighting it up......

Lots of times the dance floor is more entertaining LOL
Yep. I need to put a GoPro on stage, because as sound engineer I have to be out front. I can move around - I run the show from an iPad - but I still need to be where I can hear everything.

But a detour now and then.....nobody will notice.....hehe

Got down to the Oakland, California Pick-N-Pull wrecking yard this morning to get some parts off a 1965 Dodge Dart, that they set out in one of their Chrysler Corp. row of cars a week ago.
Never been to that yard before, in all these years that i have been wrecking yarding.
Wouldn't have found it, without GPS navigating me there.
A great modern convenience, that's for sure.

Cleaned our camper inside and out even did the roof and the solar panels. Winterized it a few weeks ago. Put it over in storage till spring. Can’t wait till it gets warm again so we can enjoy time down on the Cheasapeake….

This was yesterday. There was a benefit car show in Paso Robles yesterday to honor Gene Winfield. He now lives in the area after moving from the Mojave Desert. Huge turnout, 125+ rides. All of the proceeds from the raffle, auction items, food vendors, donations etc went directly to him. He's 97 years young and along with the impact he made on the car industry, he's also a WW2 vet The man rocks!

A friend gave me a 1959 Mercedes Benz 300 SL a couple weeks ago. It didn't have a trunk lid, so I am planning on building one this week.

Worked on my wife's Triumph TR6 barn find. This will be my priority to have ready for spring. Nice simple vehicle to work on AND you can still get reasonable priced parts (compared to Mopars).

I have come to appreciate why Englishmen drink warm beer though.

Cheers.
