So, I have a 66 trans, and a Hurst that was in an original 70 b-body 4 speed as a replacement decades ago.

Brewers lists a complete shifter package for 66-70, and 62-65 with A833.
They also list rod kits for 64-69 and a separate rod kit for 70.

Not sure why the 70 rod kit is separated.

I might have a source for used rods, but the shifter kit pic shows different rods than the rod kits, and the rod kits have the same pic.

Do rods have numbers stamped on them?
Anyone know what rods will work?

I’m not an expert on this but I went through the “rod” nightmare.

Check the number on the reverse lever arm on the shifter and compare it to the photos that Brewers has posted on their website section for shifter identification. That should narrow down the rod selection.

I don’t believe (although I could be wrong) the rod have any numbers. I’ve got a set that I can check tomorrow.

One other thing be sure the shifter plate mount that bolts to the transmission is for a b body and not an a body. I bought a 883 and was told the plate was for a b body..I didn’t double check, ordered the rods for my application and took me a week to figure out why then rods wouldn’t work....it was the wrong shifter mounting plate.

One last thing...be sure the levers that bolt to the trans are the correct ones for the rods...I do believe they are numbered.

I’m sure some others will post up with some suggestions...

Ok, thank you.
I only have what's in the pic, no rods or levers.

Checked the rods I have and there are no numbers. If you haven't reviewed this page from Brewers suggest you do so...it will help with identification of the shifter and from there you can determine the rods and levers you need. You may get lucky and find a used set....I tried but ended up buying a new set from Brewers. Best of luck.

That helps. That page looks familiar, I either couldn't find it, forgot it existed, or both - I'm going with both.

Found the 373 4089 install kit instructions for the 391 6789 Hurst, which are both included in Brewers SP6789PKG, or any similar 65-70 b-body Hurst package.

I don't see the rods or arms listed separately on Brewers site, or the spacer.

My shifter is 6370.

I'm going to call Brewers and see what's up.
