Some years back, I rode a friend's suzuki Hayabusa. That was the most insane ride I have ever been on!! On the highway, it was built to handle speeds, our highways were never built to accommodate two wheels with all the cracks and small holes in them at the speeds that thing will go. Try a boss hoss, 502. Had a friend with one. That thing would annihilate a back tire and when the hammer was dropped, pull in a straight line doing it. Way to much. 8200 cc.

I rode sportbikes for 35 years. I sold my last 4, as a group. The silliest bike I owned, was a 2008 Suzuki B-King. It was lightly modded, and a bunch quicker than my stock Busa.

2008 B-King, 2005 Kawasaki ZZR1200, 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa, and 1986 GSXR1100.

Not really. Body and cosmetics, yea...but mechanical and maintenance is easy. Not just from HD, but aftermarket as well. Internals on the old ones are literally XL1200 sportster bits, with higher compression, ported heads, hotter cams, and different gearing in the cartridge 5 speed. The newer ones - like my '06 here (my "swiss army bike", it does it all and I've logged about 50k happy miles on it)

have different cases - they got away from the cartridge trans in the name of case strength, but it's a PITA to swap trans' now - and even better heads and cams...but still a 1200cc twin with mountains of torque.

And yes, that's an EIGHT piston caliper up front!

50 thousand miles is a true bike rider, a person that deserves a bike. My brother put 69 thousand on one of his. I'd rather see on wore out, than leaking from every seal from seating for 10 years and only have 1,200 miles on it. Good for you!

370 lbs wet. Dynoed it after I finished new bike break-in, 156hp and 92 lb-ft at the tire. DOHC 4 valves per cylinder, twin throttle bodies that can suck in a tennis ball, liquid cooled 1125 cc twin, 10,500 redline. Shift the 6 speed quick enough - and keep the front end on the ground (THAT'S the hard part!) - and 0-60 is under 2 seconds. 9 second quarter miles.

Bone stock.

I've done track days on this bike, as well as street riding. When it STOPS scaring me, I know I'm too comfortable on it, I'm doing stupid ****...and I park it for a while.

Today, however, I went much slower.

Cannondale FatCaad. Maybe 0.25hp, depends how much Gatorade I've had. Did 32 miles on it today on the C&O canal / Potomac river. 3 hour constant grind, burned over 2100 calories according to my cycle app, average 11 mph.

I'll sleep well tonight.

Had Ryan Schnitz dyno/map my B-King. Air filter and slip-ons.....184/104, with a fat tune. It had 1 mile on it, when we started the pulls. It had 52 when we finished.
 
Test run to see if I have it positioned where it rides best . So far so good

Thanks Ulli, she just wanted out of the house today and I provided the tour. She didn't feel like driving, just wanted to be a passenger and ride along.
 
Took the Polara out yesterday for the first round of golf of the year. I picked up my nephew-out-law (he's been with my niece for 15 years and if he ever marries her he'll be my nephew-in-law) and drove up the Columbia River Gorge to Beacon Rock golf course. Temps near 80 and beautiful scenery. The red car in the lot is me. I put about 100 miles on her.

While driving around, I decided to drive by the old house that my parents built. I lived there for almost 14 years. My grandparents lived to the left of us. We had one of the nicest homes in the neighborhood, and this areal shot was taken in 1970.

I won’t say what kind of people ruined the house over the last couple of decades, but I think it’s easy to surmise. All of the trees were recently cut down and both houses are to be torn down and multi-family living will replace them both. The house to the right is also a mess and should be taken down also.

Sadly, similar to the place my dad built. It's now a rental, after the artist couple he sold it to lost it to foreclosure. I talked with the current owner shortly after he acquired it, and he said the plumbing and electrical looked like a timeline from the period when my dad owned it, then afterwards, when things went down hill.
