I want to buy upper door panels for the 72 SSP. I've looked at them all(as far as I know), and want opinions please. Classic was back ordered on rears. Laysons had no pics, I'm not ordering without pics. Year one didn't show rears at all. Legendary, from a question I asked only sells the skins? I've never ordered these before. Are they all just skins, are they all the same quality? I just posted a similar question in general topics and thought maybe it would be better here. Thanks again and Happy New Year Howard

Legendary is by far the best for factory reproduction interior products unless you want to have a custom shop make you some.....other suppliers like Classic Ind., Year One, etc...are a hit and miss because they all a have more then one supplier and you never really know where it is coming from...........

Thanks soundhd! Do you know if they are skins or full panels?

Send them to Legendary. If you have your originals, no matter the condition, as long as the metal frame isn't shot, they will replace the fiber board, clean and repaint the metal frame and recover. Legendary is by far the best. Their restorations are exact!!!

Here is a comparison of my upper door panels, old ones on the bottom.

You may have to sent yours to Legendary. They don't show them for a 72 SSP which is a one year and model only upper panel.

Thanks for the info. I ordered a set over the phone. The communication email wise stinks, slow, uninformed and frustrating. Hopefully they will be as described, it will be end of January because rears have to be made. Take care

Hey Idrivemopar what did it cost you to have them done by legendary? Thanks in advance Howard

I contacted legendary about install cost, $268.00. Gonna pull them off today and send them the metals. They said 3-4 weeks I'll let ya know how they turn out. I'm just glad they had the sale, right at $800.00 with new everything. Take care

Looks like I'm just ahead of you at Legendary. I had ordered the Legendary 71 R/T door panels and didn't realize that all you get is the skins. After looking at you tube installation videos etc., I decided to call legendary and get there opinion on installing myself. I had a very detailed and professional conversation with them on the ins and outs of the installation, what glues to use, how to reattach the board, emblems, etc. and was headed to do the installation myself. At the end of the conversation I asked the question, "now, after all that, should I do it myself or send them to you?", and his answer was absolutely send them to us. I was given a RMA number and was told they would contact me when they arrived. Monday of this week I boxed up my new skins, plus the old panels and shipped them off, Thursday they called me and walked through the whole inspection and recommendations for the install. I was also told 4 weeks for the install depending on the locating of new window fuzzies. I am very confident that ill get the panels back and they will be perfect. I've had seats rebuilt by legendary and they were like new when I got them back. Id recommend legendary every time.

Just wanted to update my situation. I just received the panels from legendary on Thursday after 3 months. They looked great at first glance. Then as I picked up the first front panel I noticed huge bumps under the wood grain. When I flipped them over they had stapled the backer to the metal. From the factory they were pressed together with the metal fingers from the punch. I removed the panels and I know there was no damage to the metal, I didn't even try to dig the old stuff out so I wouldn't damage them. I called on Friday and left a message. My worry is I know the original tabs are gone and what can be done now. I'll let you know what they say and or do. Thanks for letting me vent, take care

I've got to say, legendary has been very disappointing for me. Their communication stinks, I now question quality, and integrity. No word on the situation, and they've ruined the perfect metal from my car. I guess I'm whining, but going on 4 months and I am getting quite pissed! Sorry just had to vent! Take care and thanks for letting me vent.

Finally received the fronts again. I've got to say I'm not impressed with legendary. I can still see the staples, just not as pronounced. While installing the rears I notice the folds around the edges are pretty rough, I had to tuck and hide as best as I could. It ain't a show car but for right at $800.00 with a 25% material discount I'm not impressed at all. They did send me new mounting clips for my inconvenience, and acted like they were doing me a favor by sending me a full sweep kit because they lost the other 6 pieces of the 10 piece kit. 5 months later I can put the car back together. That's the end of my venting on legendary, and the end of my buying from them. Thanks for reading and take care!

Guys I bring mine down to a local guy I've been using for years $350 I bring him the old stuff he replaces the boards and uphosters them how I want (he can't do the go wood) but I hate it anyways. I also supply him with new window seals and I get back perfect every time I'll be bringing him a set soon I'll take pictures if I remember.
Legendary Is good love there product but I always install myself if I order there stuff that way I know it's right ,
Good luck
