Years ago there was a fly-in at Hot Springs and we could tour a B17 and B24 inside and outside. I took some photos but didn’t label them so it’s possible I may have 1 or 2 under the wrong plane. I do remember crawling through the B17 was a regular obstacle course of different levels and tight squeezes. By comparison the B24 was almost roomy. My mothers youngest brother died in a B24 in WWII

It would be tight and cramped inside, the B-17 was probably the smallest four engine bomber produced. But they made a lot of them.

Nine Oh Nine crashed several years ago due to half assed maintence and pilot error. I was supposed to fly on Her in 2016 but got rained out. The B-24 is currently painted as Witchcraft. As a result of the B-17 crash, Collings isn't flying their planes anymore.

Used to like to see them lined up and take off out of Stewart Airport (Newburgh, NY) when visiting friends in Orange County.
Heck of a sight.
