The air conditioning compressor clutch froze up on the car. I had to have it towed home. Unfortunately I never had it actually hooked up electrically so it fried the compressor with no oil circulating through it. I was going to hook it up and add the freon as soon as I put the idle solenoid on. My question is I opened it up took the pistons and rods out (the rods were destroyed). I cleaned it out, greased the bearings and put oil in it to splash lube the bearings. I also removed the magnet. It turns true and straight. Will this last? I'm really not wanting to hook it back up now. Thanks in advance! Howard

If you cleaned it out well, I should work..... IMO. If it fails, you'll know right away because you'll loose the alternator.

Thanks, that is why I had to have it towed. I talked to the guy who did my engine work, he said it would be fine. Take care Howard
