Would you do it again .....Marriage

I heard of a story that went kinda like this: the guy met a girl and after a couple of dates he could tell she was genuinely interested in cars. So he took her with him to test drive an old Challenger that he was thinking of buying, and she climbed in the back while the two men talked up front and took the car out on the road. When they got back, she climbed out of the back seat and held her shirt out a little and said, "my shirt smells like a HEMI!".

He was hooked, and they got married. Story still gets me all misty from time to time.

I thought I met a girl similar to that, then she turned out to be the biggest nightmare of my life. Thankfully, I finally wised up after a year (yah, I know.) and decided it was in my best interest to end it.

I got married farly late, too- 33, because...wait for it...I couldn't find a good one!

She's a couple years older, it's her second time, my first, and I got a boy that I got to watch gwor up as a bonus in the deal.

We've been together excluseively 13 years and married for 7 in May.

My wife is truly my best friend. We have a lot in common but not so much that it's too cute or unhealty.

Neither of us fit the norm in many areas, and I call both of us type A- or B+ personalities.

Absolutely, I can see why allot of you say you would never get married because I was engaged to a #@&*% before I met my wife. I was really close to making that fatal mistake, fortunetly her true colors came out before I did. I've now been married for 10 years and don't regret it for a minute.

:rofl:68 are you sure you weren't under the influence of something by the looks in your photo,:thinker::thinker:

the other day there was a posting that asked if you would go back to your youthful days if you could ..and it made me think of other things that people may want to do or redo or not do....so seeing as the divorce rate in America is slightly over 50 percent I was wondering this miserable wintry day if you would do it again...now I know many of us have children so I want you to take that out of the mix..( I would marry anybody/thing to keep my daughter mine ) if your wife sometime peeks over your shoulder while on the computer or visits the site please don't comment ..I don't want to start anything .. just a bored guy on a wintry day wondering .....:thinker:
already did!! 31 years with the first. Part of that 31 are last two years of high school and two years of college. Been with the second (d'ed the first, she is still a great lady, but not a car lady, it was "maybe next year") now 13 years, She picked the FM3 for our car, and asked that when it is done "it needs more grunt"! Got a 493 stroker in it.Also I asked what about build a second garage just to have as a "toy shed" and a hobby shop. Her answer "what are you waiting for"? Itis the couple that count. Each need their own life that can be part of each others. Find that and you will only do it once!! Jerry

When i met my wife she was 14, very close to 15 and i just turned 17. We went together 4 year and then we got married when she turned 18, 4 years later she started to have kids, we found out what caused that and fixed the problem because after our third my mother in law said if we didn't she would! Her being from West Virgina and the knowledge i had of the dear lady i believed her. This April i think it is makes us 40 years together and in that time we shared the greatest times and some we wish we could have avoided in life. But if i had it to do over again, i would do it without any hesitation at all, she has spoken the same and we have both just laughed at the thought of remarrying another if and when something happens to one of us.

I'm happy being by myself for the most part but there are times I think how long will I be on the floor before someone finds me....but I am finally started to look around being separated for 5 years. Divorce was final 4 years ago. Guess I'm going to have to start going to church to find someone lol.

I got engaged when I was in my early 30's. My fiancé was killed in a car accident (F'n drunk driver). That threw my world into a tailspin for a LOOOONG time. I felt incredible guilt any time I found myself enjoying another woman's company. I finally started dating a girl who I (thought) I had a lot in common with. There was a lot of pressure on me from family and friends to marry her and I finally did. We have been married now for over 10 years. It's not the best, but we make it work. I often wish I had never done it and how my life would be now if the accident had never happened.
