Friend has a coronet with a v8 motor and the pad on the front of the motor 426 M AR can anyone tell me what motor this is.

Most likely built on a 426 marine block

Tell him to find the casting number on the block. Might be on the side or it could be at the back of the block above the bellhousing in the center of the block.
