HELLCRATE at SEMA

Damn that’s too bad, would be bad *** to be able to look factory on the outside, then open the hood and BAM.

Wonder if you could modify how it’s mounted to lower it enough to fit under a factory hood?
I wonder if a 70 plymouth hood would clear...

If it did imagine a plain jane 70 Satellite

Will your 426 get 22 mpg or better ?
Will your 426 last 100,000 miles or more?
Will your 426 run on 91 octane fuel?

Well no
My 1970 426 Hemi gets a good "8 mpg"
Yes, it runs on 91 Octane
But, it is what I want.....
Not playing Sour Grapes either, I have a "Big Boy" in the garage, 200 miles on odometer and 10 years old but I like my old school

Just for fun I measured my hellcat engine and it is 30.26 inches from lowest point (bell housing) to top of the supercharger.

My 426 hemi in the coronet is 30.53" from its lowest point (the oil drain plug) to top of air cleaner (oval type).

So--the 426 engine is about 1/4" taller than the hellcat engine.

BTW the low point of the HC engine is 7-5/16" to ground and the 426 low point is 5-1/2" to ground.

Time to buy a lotto ticket? Lol. Maybe someday that'd be cool to have.

Someone mentioned resale value......
Who cares ???? Many of us enthusiasts are on the high side of 50, who cares about what the car sells for after we are done with it? These cars are mere playthings anyway, not daily drivers. Why not build what you want?

I am forever forgetting how much info is a few clicks away thanks to google. The above chart came up with a few clicks.
The way I measured my engines is plus or minus 1/16".

It's like dangling a pound of coke in front of an addict.
I have never tried drugs.....who here has experience and cares to spill some stories?

I could live with the hole in the hood

About everything, except needles or the newer chemicals. Crank[meth] was just becoming big out west...when I quit partying.

Excellent point Kern Dog
"do what you like to your own vehicle"
Yup, it's our vehicles, screw them!

You'll need a fuel system upgrade, a transmission upgrade, and don't think you'll get by running those manual drums with that HC under the hood.

But if you guys just wanted to pull a prank on me and 'pretend' steal my car for a few weeks to install all that I would be OK with it.
