Historical link to the power wagon

I've always had a thing for the old Power Wagons. I owned one for a few days once. It was brown with flames and a Chevy 327. Bought it, and sold it, made 50 bucks. They were old school hard as a rock and won us the war on the ground as far as I'm concerned! Thanks for sharing!......... Ulli

I prefer the 1968-71 W100-200 Power Wagon myself
but had a bunch of them from, a dozen or more between
1966 W200 Power Wagon my 1st,
a bunch in the early to mid-late 70's, 72-78 versions
to the 1995 & 98 Power Ram 2500 Cummins

I'd love to have a late 40's PW, put a 5.9ltr Turbo Cummins in it
those things are freaken' huge & beasts,
perfect for military, but the Org Flathead 6 is weak/anemic
1st gear/granny is useless, unless pulling a stump
(if the org. flathead had enough power)
barely go 50mph 'if that', with 5.38:1 gears & military tires/spit rims,
but you can get out & watch it will climb a freaken' wall...
They also have a great PTO (in/out mech.) system,
winch up front & drive access. to the rear too
if you need a farm implement type vehicle, post hole drill etc.
Many were used for that purpose...
