    Mine has a Hurst shifter. When my friend drove it, I did not see the knob shift over to the right when he went from 2nd to 3rd. 1st and 3th where in the same position or it appeared that way; as did 2nd and 4th.

    so with this type of trans, no noticeable gate or detent. does it mainly depend on speed and RPM for the transition from 2nd into 3rd?

    Dumb question to most of you....Does the A833 4 speed have a noticeable gate / detent going into 3rd and 4th. 1st and 2nd are easy. Im used to top loaders. My friend that has had classic muscle cars his whole life found 3rd and 4th no problem. I recently purchased it so give me a break.
