Turns out I did order the convertible seals by mistake.
Should've read the description all the way to the bottom for that was where it said "convertible."
Sending them back and getting the correct ones.
Like I said, the quality seemed real good and they are made in the USA.
So I ordered the window felt kit form Classic Industries made by Repops.
The door felts seem to be of good quality and look as though they will fit. However not the case with the quarter window felts. They are nearly 8" too short as can be seen in this picture:
Double checked the part number...
Wish I would have taken more car when removing the old ones. I just ripped them off thinking I would be buying new.
Bought the kit and it's two pieces short, contacted them about it and nothing . . .
Anybody have two of these Rocker Panel molding clips for sale?
The package I bought is two short of what I need. Hate to buy a whole other package for just two clips.
Getting ready to install the door weather stripping. In the manual it shows two fasteners at the vent window needed but I have no idea what they are? My guess would be screws of some sort.
I needed this reminder. It seems it has take forever to get this far.
The car had been completely dismantled by this shop and the owner got it back with the engine and tranny on a pallet, as well as boxes full of other parts.
Digging through the piles of stuff I have in a storage shed was when...
This is exactly why I love this site so much. Tons of great information and knowledgeable people willing to help.
My car was built in late 1967 so it does have somethings the later models didn't. Like the 150 mph speedometer.
CAR: Plymouth GTX 2 Door Hardtop
ENGINE: 440cid 4-bbl HP V8...
Got the driver's side done today.
Anyone know what the proper gap is on the quarter glass to door glass is?
I set mine at about 1/4" as that's where the taper on the seal ends.
Inside the door bracket for vent window fork. The mounting nuts are accessed from the front hinge area:
This is the Allen head adjusting screw set up. See the next photo for mounting point in door:
Allen head adjusting screw mounting location. Allen head points inward and is accessed...
I did loosen the Y fork bracket bolts and slid it as far outboard as possible and then tightened them down. Are you saying I should leave them loose?
And yes, I did loosen the socket head as well. I think I will try to go through the whole process one more time seeing I have the seals on...
Okay, the seals didn't come with instructions and I had them installed on the wrong sides.
Here's where I'm at now:
The upper portion of the door glass still needs to go in about an 1/8" to fit correctly but it's a lot closer than it was.
