    Clutch for tkx street/strip

Use the 143 tooth 11", that way a mini starter fits. 130 tooth Needs a real hack job to for mini starter on a big block. I vote single disc with dual surface McLeod. I think is was super street pro?

    Timing retard - Why

TIG tack the set screw, cut the collar at set screw if you need to remove. Pinning it works also. On a stock distributor you can replace the plastic collar (will break anyway when touched) and adjust out the excessive vertical play on the distributor with a drilled/pinned sleeve or collar.

I should have bought a cheap truck with a N14 in it and re-railed my '85 359, but water under the bridge now. I still have my '94 379 sitting here needs a engine (original bounced a main cap then broke the crank@ 1.4 million). I'll put it back together, little bunk, smaller tanks, then...

    Timing retard - Why

If cam was moving forward it would advance timing. It is probably forward and moving aft. I would look at button clearance. The distributor riding up a bit in the drive slot in a big block could be making your problems. I have always added a 1/2" shaft collar to the bottom like first picture to...

Your not touching that nowadays. I dropped over 30k in a ISX last year. Cummins used to be cheap, apparently they moved up to Cat territory. You can have mid 20k in a old N series. Cats are getting so old now there is no way your getting your core money back. I miss the weekend rebuilds on a N...

    Alternator

To the OP sorry to hijack your thread. Was only trying to let you know it is a thing to be concerned about when buying a alternator. Apparently I'm a dumbass because I do not have part numbers imprinted on my brain for my cobbled, shoemaker car that has done over 20k in the last couple of years...

    Alternator

$50 Does that make you feel better about yourself BoB? Nobody cares it's just a alternator. I'm glad I do not have to live with the burden that is in your head, it's exhausting.

Newest fuel sender from Vans Auto

Put one in my Charger read perfect till dash connector decide it was not going to be connected anymore. Put one in my Challenger and even with bending the arm numerous times it still goes to empty with about 7-8 gallons left in the tank. Getting closer, but far from accurate OOTB.

    Alternator

Bob seriously, I'm spending 10-20$ on a alternator if it does not fit my big block because the bearing boss in the rear is too big and hits the engine, I will just use it on a small block or a slant or just break it up for parts to fix units that the rotor or rectifier is bad. I need a...

No way I would dump $240+ rod bolts into a set of LY rods. You can buy better rods for not a lot more than that and be made of better material and have zero time on them.
