That looks right. From the picture looks like a power lead, a connector to the heater and then connectors to the switch.. The car did not have a heater in it when I bought it so I don't know exactly, but this looks to be correct.... Thanks, Joel
Hi,
I'm looking for the wiring harness which runs from the heater box on my '66 Coronet to the dash mounted switch. My car came without a heater which I have since found, rebuilt and installed. The repop houses don't seem to have this so if you can help me out, please send me a PM.
Thanks!
Joel
Hello from South Florida, Treasure Coast.
Not sure if this is the right place for this..but in any event....
Anyone in the South Florida area needing driveline work I would highly recommend Drivetrain Center in Stuart Florida. Young guy runs the place turns out nice work. I needed a new...
I think I have this figured out finally. From what I have read, Mopars, at least vintage ones, use "inside locking" universals. These come in basically two flavors; the "Small Dodge" 7260 and the "Big Dodge" 7290. The 7290 was common in vintage big block 4 speed applications.
What I have...
Very nice. I got my 3rd member from Dr. Diff and it came with the 7290 (7260?) differential yoke. Everything else is 1350. I'll order the correct one for the rear. I've seen the "conversion" universals out there on a few sites but I think I would rather use the same standard joints front and...
Hi;
I need to have a new driveshaft made for my 66 Coronet; small block, 4 speed, 8 3/4" rear. From what I have been reading/seeing Mopar basically has two choices for universal joints; the 1350 and the 7290. They look to be almost the same size... The question is what is the difference...
I'm looking for a driveshaft for my '66 Coronet, small block, 4 speed with 8 3/4" rear. It's 29/30 spline up front with a 7290 yoke at the rear. The shop manual calls out 2.75"X52.28" for the shaft proper.
Would like to go with the larger 7290 bearings all around if that is possible.
Located...
Think I found it... See the pix. The car is on the ground and 2 1/2"+ of yoke is exposed. Also, see the front universal looks like it is separating..one side is further out than the other. That will really mess things up...??
Thanks for this. I saw your picture when I was poking around for this earlier this morning. You basically have less than 2" from the seal to the collar on the yoke. I'll check again and try to get a picture with the car on the ground, but my recollection is that my yoke is much more...
Hello Again from Florida!
Another issue with my 66 Coronet 440 which I think is driveshaft related...vibration... This car has undergone some major rework, was originally a 6 cylinder automatic car and is now a 408 worked small block mated to a 4 speed. I've spent a couple years on it...
Hi, I did not have the same problem as you have described but my wiring harness(es) were a bloody mess. Whoever had the car before me spliced into everything so it was virtually impossible to trace. I bit the bullet and bought all new repop wiring harnesses, from Year One as I recall. Yes...
