Hello to all, my name is Bill

New to the forum, but not to the B bodies. In my earlier years I had several MOPAR cars - '68 Dodge Coronet R/T, '69 Plymouth Road Runner, '69 Plymouth GTX, '70 Plymouth Road Runner, and a '70 Plymouth 'Cuda. Two of these were 440's, the rest were 383's. I got away from the cars, but not the industry, spending almost 20 years in parts, working for a Chevrolet dealership, running a Ford parts department, and ultimately owning my own NAPA Auto Parts store - which was a blast. I also ran the service garage for Montgomery Wards at nights, here in town and have worked on various performance cars along the way including a Datsun Pro-Rally car.

For the last 15 years I've been employed in the computer genre, working with mainframes and large data storage facilities, and most recently as a programmer. I haven't turned a wrench on a vehicle in years - until this month.

I found a '67 Dodge Coronet R/T for sale and bought it and now I'm back into the MOPAR fold once again. It has a '72 440 engine with electronic ignition and the alternator/voltage regulator has been changed to the transistorized version. The 727 transmission is stock for now - as is pretty much the rest of the car, save for a flowmaster dual exhaust system. It has been repainted, but not a great job - so that's in the works down the road - and it has a few issues to deal with - which what hot rod doesn't?

I've been reading the posts on the forum and find there's a great bunch of people on here and tons of information to be had and good tips to follow.
Here's a couple pictures of where I'm starting at on this one - I'll post more as it progresses.

How rare is that '68 R/T convertible! I don't think I've ever seen one before - that is quite a ride!

I'm not real fond of those pipes sticking out there under the bumper - may have to get some chrome tips on those. :icon_fU:

Thanks Bill I appreciate the compliment. I think there were 567 made if memory serves me. I've got the motor and trans out at the moment and am hoping to have it back on the road in the spring.

Speaking of Coronet converts there is a 67 500 for sale down in KC

In 1967 Dodge only made 2772 Coronet 500 convertibles, a rare find.
This is a matching 383 big block 2 barrel original car and motor 103K original miles. I have the original build sheet and many pieces of paperwork from the original purchase including the original manual.
The motor was rebuilt top to bottom 3k miles ago and hardened valve seats were installed for use of unleaded gasoline.
There is some rust in the usual areas around the rear wheel openings below the trim.
In addition, there are numerous still in the box parts for this car as well as many trim and body parts.
• 2 extra grills and 2 grill trims (one is new in the box old/original stock) plus a left & right light assembly.
• Right and left front fenders and a hood.
• Right and left rear light assembly and matching trunk chrome trim & rear bumper (perfect shape)
• 4 radiators, 2 starters, distributor and parts still in the box.
• Entire gage dash cluster and glove box door.
• 4 additional exact hub caps
• Extra door panels and tons of extra interior trim pieces
This car is priced to sell: $13,900
