Sorry to be late to the Party. Fell in love with the 70 Coronet in the 70's when an Older Lady in the Neighborhood had a B5 Blue R/T.. Here is my Wagon.. She currently has a 360, Tremec 5spd and a few other fun pieces.

Here is My Charger, my Friends 70 Coronet, and my Wagon. Added F.I. and few other Goodies to my Friends Coronet.Derwuds house of Mopars.jpg

...determining factor...the cars that have the bright molding vs ones that don’t…

Maybe trim level ...say DeLuxe, 440 n Bee didn't get it, while the 500 n R/T did ?

I have seen the trim on deluxe and 440 and the super bee.
A few items to peruse - whether helpful or not is debatable. Mitchell is of the opinion the 500 and R/T got the painted caps; actual practice seems much more variable. The parts manual is of practically no help in regard to this.

It's a bit random actually, Look at the sales brochure for a 70 Coronet wagon. It has the chrome centre.

And the famous Hemi R/T convertible has it. (Might have been changed of course)
