62 Dart (B-body) Power Steering -- Question

I currently have a 62 Dart with a Mopar power steering box. -- It has a soft feel, and some (too much) play. -- The adjustment screw is as tight as possible. -- I plan to replace it with a Borgenson power steering box. -- Somewhere, I have read that to remove the Mopar box, I will have to raise the motor, to get it out. -- I can't find where I read this. -- Is this true -- Will I have to raise the motor ?

No need to raise the motor. If you have headers you need to remove drivers side. Removing the starter is recommended. You're dropping it out from the bottom. Very heavy unit, like 48lbs heavy.

It's a 440. with headers -- the headers look as if they're not going to be an issue. -- I have Vertigo, real ,bad, and have to hire help for most issues. -- This, for sure.

Borgeson is complex. You might consider the recently marketed Lares 2.5 fast box. I put it in my 63 Fury and like it so far. The return connection, and maybe the input threads are different from stock. Lares Catalog - Lares Corporation

Already ordered the Borgeson -- Hope all is OK. -- What do You mean by "complex" ?

Sorry, just what I read here: need to alter steering column? Lares is a bolt-in.

Borgeson is also a bolt in if you order from Bergman... i put it on my car just before winter and it is a great setup. didn't have to modify anything

Borgeson is NOT complex at all. I installed a complete kit from Bergman, which includes his custom coulper (no cut), and it fit like a glove. Installed in a 64 Dodge, 426W, Dougs headers, mini starter. You're gunna like it!

My only criticism of the kit is the directions.. in the small block kit it doesn't show where spacers do and they are pretty self explanatory except 1 washer... had to pull the whole pump back out to put in one washer... still not 100% happy with belt alignment but i'm sure it's my fault.

This is a 62 Dart -- 440 motor -- TTI headers -- After market tilt steering column, which is a different connector configuration from the column to the steering box. -- If the Borgeson unit has the shaft connection in the same location as the Mopar box, then it should be simple to hook up. -- We'll see.
