57 years for me. I ordered my first one new in 1967, a Satellite 383 4-speed. I don't think I've missed a year since then, of having a performance car. All have been mostly Mopars, but I did have several C3 Corvettes, and a Porsche in 86. I started my collection of Mopars in 1990 with a 66...
I used Montway less than a month ago. Very reasonable price for a 1700 mile haul. The first people they sent left empty handed, every red flag that could happen. The second people they consigned to were one of the best I have used. Delivered in 3 days. The only concern I had in this transaction...
Welcome from Alabama, pictures of that Charger. How about other drivetrain components? A 440 with an automatic or a 4-speed should roast some tires with a 3.23 and up gear.
My detail guy says he's found the correct formula to remove the unwanted stripes, but it's going to be slow and costly. I knew this without asking, before I loaded the car up and took it 100 plus miles to have a paint correction done. I'm just thankful they can be removed. I made the decision to...
Welcome from Alabama. In this cars history all the trim and molding have been removed. If it were mine, I would check compression and tuning and if that is good, I would do nothing to the engine. The first thing I would change is to get a more streetable rear gear setup 3.23 or 3.55. 67's are...
No, body shop closed about 5 years ago. I have used this guy for several World of Wheels shows. The best I know of at detailing and show preparing cars.
Thanks to everyone for the help. I will see what my guy can do to get all the unnecessary stripes removed. You all say a little prayer, as I found out this afternoon that although the paint is almost perfect on this car except for the extra pin stripes, it is thin. 3 to 4 mils, per his gauge.
Details of front and rear ends would be nice. My car is a 24K mile original but other pin stripes were added in the 70's. I'm having them removed if possible and don't want to remove anything original. Some of the added stuff has light and missing places already so it shouldn't be to hard to...
Careful sanding with 1500 until scratches are disappearing, then work your way up to 3000 in increments of 500. Then polish to new luster. Most pieces have plenty of metal.
