I wish it was still there!! is there anyway to move the "up" arrow up a little further on the page. I have an ad blocker and it the arrow is covered up.
I was referring specifically to stock style hinges, I don't know if anyone makes billet hinges for 71-74 B bodies but I am inclined to think that E body hinges are the same although I don't know for sure.
I got all the fluids into the car and then put the battery in, then hit the key... nothing.. :BangHead: so I started looking around and discovered that the ignition circuit breaker had tripped so I fixed that and tried again. This time it cranked however no power going to the ECU so once again...
I think there is only one company making them which is AMD so anything that you would find would be coming from them. Therefore I would check out Classic or Roseville Moparts, etc. to find the best deal.
I don't think the 6 pack makes all that much difference in this situation. You need a PCV valve on one side and a breather that is connected to the air cleaner on the other side.
I put a 56 DeSoto 330 Hemi into a 52 Dodge B3B pickup. I sold the truck to a buddy who is down and AZ and drives the crap out of it.
In my case I installed a 88 Dodge Dakota front clip and made the motor mounts using some generic spool mounts I bought from Speedway motors. I adapted the Hemi...
Personally I'd recommend just buying a new set if you can afford it because whatever you buy used is going to likely have issues that will require more money. That said you can re-peen the rivets and get them to work much better but it requires a oxy/acetylene torch, a vise and a hammer.
I think you need to get 2 new hinges or perhaps just one that matches one of yours. I know that both my 70 Challenger and my 73 Cuda have teeth in the hinges. Also I just got my new hinges for my Charger from Classic (AMD) and they have teeth like the 71 Charger
Yeah it definitely got my attention. the back of the car was raised up on an A frame hoist and when the fire started the guy who owned the shop who also owned a towing company hooked his truck to the car and just drug it out and I was underneath it.. Ah to be young again... lol
JB weld typically does not adhere well to plastic especially smooth plastic. A better choice (IMO) is 2 part epoxy however both will work if you really rough up the plastic. What I have done is use an old soldering iron to basically stipple the plastic where I indent to put the epoxy or the JB...
I once owned a gun metal grey 74 RR 318 3 spd bucket seat, white interior with red and black plaid seat inserts. Didn't take long for me to make a 340 4spd car then I painted it yellow and black.. lol Ended up spinning a rod bearing and then trading it in on a 74 Challenger 318/AT car. That...
The hinge on the left is from a 70 Challenger and the one on the right is the one I got with my 71 Charger. I have to say that they seem pretty close overall.
Thanks for posting those pictures, I definitely have the 73+ version.
I agree that it seems that the passenger side seems to be the one to go bad first, interesting. I wonder if this is due to the majority of people being right handed and when closing the hood tend to pull more on the drivers...
