C H E A P People that you know...what are your stories of that person you knew that went overboard with their habits?

Wife’s and my parents both were depression survivors and carried those habits all their lives, despite being successful. We both have some frugal habits. We save the chopsticks from sushi meals to reuse as sticks around the house. Wife saves her old paper coffee cups to start her plant...

    Who Likes Aircraft ?

Lockheed's D-21 supersonic drone equipped with a camera, not a warhead, designed to be carried and launched from an A-12. Because of difficulties, it was later carried by pylon on a B-52. This one, launched over China in 1971 to spy on a nuclear test site, was lost and crashed. It was...

Oh no... say it 'ain't so

Me too. I’m a car guy and love all fast cars old or new. So what if they put Richard Petty’s number on a Supra. If Petty is involved with their company I see no harm. The Supra is a nice fast car that looks good too. There are no more Plymouth’s so you won’t see 43 on a Plymouth ever again...

Who has used a 440 crank in a 383 block?

Last week I used my cheap Harbor Freight press to push the pins out of 2 sets of stock pistons. I was surprised to feel how heavy the pins are in these engines. One piston had a pin so stiff, I bent the rod trying to press it out. I've seen my machinist heat up the little end of rods before...

    Who Likes Aircraft ?

At first I had the same thought. But this could have been where they were stored prior to being dispersed for display purposes around the country. Note that the photo says "THESE WERE THE NINE A-12s", since there are nine air-frames in existence. Of the fifteen originally built, six were lost...
