Lots of off/on, and a little modification, but 12 hours later it's close enough for the time being. I've got to put headlight buckets in, plus all the hardware.
Been chipping away at the X. Steve came over and helped me get the front sheet metal on and gapped. Going to have to do some work on the hood. But getting closer
This is a bolt on fiberglass hood, with lightweight springs on the hinges. I bought it used so I don't know the brand. I should weigh it next time I have it off to see what it weighs.
You can see by the dust track on the seal I'm close. Maybe another 1/2" , then I'll glass a wall back in for strength.

I double checked valve lash. Had one out .003 all others within .001. Tomorrow I'm going to run a wire to idle solenoid, then start hanging the front end sheet metal
Stall converter is a little loose, but I think it will be ok. It helps with the choppy idle. PS is nice with the Bergman steering box. I think I can move forward with the front sheet metal.
So did a second fire up today to run it up to temperature. I have a 180 thermostat in it. It continued to climb past 180 and I shut it off at 200. I pulled the thermostat and tested it. It opened but very slowly. So I have a 165 coming. It also didn't have the bleed hole. I'll make sure the 165...
Got the old girl fired up today. Only hickup was I didn't have power to ballast in run position. Once I fixed that it fired right up. I only ran it a minute or 2. I need to retop off the fluids. Trans, PS, coolant, ect. I did have a valve cover leak that needs attention.
Engine bay is kinda busy looking, but no way around it. I'll work on getting it neater after it's running. Next is to crank it over to check for spark, then reprime the oil pump and check oil pressure. Also install new valve cover gaskets & hardware
