I’ll agree with the old wiring sucks or any old wire period, especially for accessories. The new M&H harnesses are Cross Linked Polyethylene type GXL wire which is much more tolerant to heat than the original PVC type GPT wire that was used from the factory and thats exactly why I went with it...
Yeah that was me wiggling and moving it every way I could, after removing the trans cover I was able to get it there but the support frame is preventing me from moving it in any other direction - going to have another go at it this weekend but thought I'd ask here first haha - oh yeah here is...
The rear lip of the pan is resting inside the trans bell. It looks like if you can get it to drop below that, that you might have enough clearance on what I assume is a straight axle to slide the pan rearward, but I can't tell for sure from these pics.
That looks like what is on my 68 pictured above. I didn't recall the plate with the two holes for the safety chains so I just went out and looked. It is there, just beneath and behind the bumper. Wonder if it was a Mopar accessory or aftermarket.

Long time listener, first-time caller! Been browsing the forums for a bit to gain some knowledge and insights on this engine. (During COVID, I built a ‘ 68 Mustang, so I’m familiar with Ford, and this is a bit of a change for me.)

The stock alternator undercharged, this one overcharges. The wiring is unchanged. The mounting position is unchanged.
As always, electrical stuff is my weakest point. What is simple to some is not as easy for me.
I just used bonehead logic here...I changed the parts and the results went way...
