Heard about some led replacement dash lights that are a little brighter, non polar and dimmable, so those are on order. This also seemed a perfect time to replace all the indicator lights while its open so #57 bulbs here we come.
Anyone ever have an interior courtesy light go out and upon replacing the bulb it doesn’t work and trying another bulb in case that new one might be bad and still doesn’t work? Ok, no kiddin. Bad socket or wiring connections to it right? It is one of those teeny bulbs inset into a molded...
Well I finally got the 71 back into the shop. I was able to get the taillight housings somewhat fixed so that I can run normal style bulbs. As some of you remember I went down this whole LED light panel route and while it would work for sure it was just getting to be a PIA having to wire in and...
Did anyone have an issue with resistance replacing all the bulbs with LED? I heard or read that the low resistance can cause an issue. Read to leave two incandescent bulbs in place?
I like LEDs, don't get me wrong...much more energy efficient, almost no heat...I swapped out most of the interior lights in my Grand National with blue LEDbulbs, they're brighter than ordinary white bulbs and give it some character.
...the (2) flashers was the current rating was higher for the 4-way part, designed to handle higher continuous current/switching..
Regarding the use of LEDbulbs and flasher operation, LEDbulbs present a lower resistance load and typically require a special flasher..
Just my $0.02...
Octanes are way brighter with their 40w bulbs. Depending on your charging system with the headlights on high you’re going use up around 13 amps with a set of Octane 40w bulbs. With the Holley 30w bulbs it’s around 10 amps total. Holley and Octane both have a weaker set of bulbs if you want to go...
In my Valiant I have a power master and with the A/C on high, condenser fan on turn signal on my brake lights will bring it below 12v at idle in gear. Think I'll change the stop bulbs to LED. The test sheet that came with the alternator shows they don't put out that much at idle.
...a #67 or #89 bulb will work, but when I search suppliers, the 1156 is also listed. I am concerned I will end up with another pair of LEDbulbs that are too bright. Anyone have any experience successfully finding a good replacement LED bulb for the inner tail lights on a 69 Charger?
Thanks...
Just now starting to inspect lighting on this vehicle I bought a year ago. Service Manual says flashers are to right of steering column in brackets mounted to ash tray housing. NOT! On underside of passenger side dash in clip-on holders. Pretty sure these are them (pics). Per Service...
I am looking to convert my taillights to led. I ordered my bulbs from Superbrightleds and the bulbs work for the 1st light and for the reverse lights but the center light does not work.
The bulbs I ordered were these, which work in bulb location 1 and flash when i use the turn signals. When in...
I just ordered and installed LEDbulbs in the tail lights of my 64 Fury
I have looked for some time to find LED lights that are bright. Had some from NAPA that were not any brighter then regular 1157 bulbs.
These are from superbrightleds.com.
I will order more for my other cars. I am only...
Thanks davek. No joy. I'm a bit confused because my FSM shows the hazard flasher to be a two prong unit but the one in the car has three prongs. I have found a couple of three prongs online that come with a ground wire but I have no idea if they will work or not.
the superbright claim to be dimmable.
they are unlike any other ledbulbs ive seen.they look just like the originals even the glass covering.
the only difference is the element inside looks different.
i did test one to see if they are reversible and they are not though.
This info was originally from a Cobra Replica manufacturer who promoted them as a painless swap for 1157 tail light bulbs for better visibility. Like a lot of older cars the Cobra lights have had problems with LEDs and flashers. I’ve managed by hook or crook to get some form of LEDs in the...
