I just did all my bulbs, swapped to LED. Unless you have child hands, you will likely not get up there to change them. The easiest way is to remove the cluster.
...are sturdy. They are bright and they make all the colors you need(do the back ups it makes a huge difference)

Another option -
LEDs may not have the same output pattern to reflect off the taillight housing, so the lens-fill might not be the same. Might have hot-spots.
The Sylvanias look like they might be that way, the 2nd one posted looks like it would do better.
You won't know until you try them...
On the tail lights I just used the bright white. What was funny I put just one LED in and if the tail lights were laid out right to left it would have looked like they were sequential.
There is nothing unique about the ’70 B-body taillight housing, several other platforms from that time use the same rear snap-in light sockets and pot metal housings. The original 1157 bulbs are about 1” in diameter at its widest point. Have yet to see any 1157 LED substitutes larger than that...

There are LEDbulbs with built in resistors and miniature fans to keep them cool. Now we have fans on our bulbs?! :screwy:
I had the same thing happen with the plug and play led replacement bulbs for T12's they used to sell at lowes, I got them on clearance and I found out why they were getting rid of them... Luckily one of the bulbs shorted as soon as I installed it and turned it on so it didn't burn anything. I...
It doesn't matter the light source.
The problem is the OPTICS.
Optics are the focusing apparatus - lens, reflector, and the geometry from the source, to the apparatus, and from there to the environment.
It doesn't matter what your source is, if it is focused wrong, it will either blind...
I can’t stand when folks take halogen housings and stuff the LEDbulbs in there.. Usually it’s a lifted truck and the lights have never been adjusted so it’s a total **** show . My eyes really struggle with blue bright led lights wether in my mirror or on coming traffic they produce such a...
