Got a 65 Belvedere that I think spent much of it's life gettin thrashed on the street or strip. The 4spd is chained similar to a torque strap on the motor. Was this common or just one guys mod to secure the driveline?
I may build a 383 or 400 stroker at some point and curious if these are the desired rods to have? What should I look for on a used set aside from obvious cracks or major scoring? These are casting # 1851535. Thanks guys.

Just acquired a 65 Belvedere with a 67 383 and 516 heads. Assuming it's stock what's an acceptable psi range and what should a fresh stock rebuild reach for psi? The seller inherited the car and believes the motor is modified but just looking for a baseline I guess.
