Went to do a quick adjustment on a 64 push button today. Easy enough. Then couldn't get it to latch in park. Removing the park housing there was debris. This was a recent build by someone else. The park lever was jammed. So the tail housing was pulled. Surprise. This was a first for me.

I can't belive it's finnally done. It has a gas carb until Spring. Then we'll get some E85, swap the carb and get it tuned. Going to get 340 stripes as well when it gets warmer.
Cone see it at Autorama if your local.

Someday I will be able to install a part that just bolts in, ya right. It's been awhile since I've updated this build. The engine and trans are in, exhaust is on. The engine compartment is wired except for mounting and terminating the fan relay. The waste gate, and blow off are all plumbed. Fuel...
Went to drop the engine into the turbo Duster today. Last weekend pulled the pan to reweld the oil drain back fitting for the turbo for clearance issues. Fabbed the throttle and kickdown cable brackets for the intake and at the trans, along with a brake line heat shield. Made a shim/engine...
Sent the body and mock up motor to a friend to rework the exhaust to fit the Duster. Damn tight. Kyle worked miracles. The parts that weren't stainless got coated. Then it was race season. So now we are back at it. Received the motor parts back from machining. It hurt one piston when it ws last...
As promised the forensics after my buddys yoke broke on his 9 second 64 Dodge. This trans was on its maiden voyage. It didnt make it. Took out the drive shaft , floor tunnel , and broke the trans it had just gone into 3rd. This is a 65 push button so the parts appear a little different than a...
So being laid off I'm finishing up projects. This is a 4.10 with a spool for a friends 65 Belvedere. He's had my center section in it for years with a sure grip. Car runs 11.30s. I'll say right now, if you dont do at least a couple axles a year, the time and tools probably arent worth the...
A lot here who haven't built an engine or hop up their ride with minimal experience. Some that are thinking about it. Thought it might be good to see it step by step. My background. In the auto repair business in one way or another since 1974. At one time or another have worked on every aspect...

My wife of 38 years puts up with me racing the 64. So when she wanted to show her car at the Detroit Auto-Rama i couldn't refuse.. It's been together 14 years so it needed a little clean-up. Underneath and engine compartment are done. The headers needed coated so they are out. It's amazing how...
