I removed one of my hood scoops to get it color matched for some touch up paint and noted that the mount holes appear drilled as they have sharp edges and small barbs on the outer surface. Certainly not punched so I’m wondering if it’s the original hood or a retro-fitted Satellite/Belvedere...
Has it struck anyone else as strange that all the painted Plymouth gas caps seem to have disappeared off the face of earth? I mean how many 66 Belvedere Is, Satellites, 67 Satellites, Belvedere Is and Belvedere IIs were made? They just don’t seem to exist in the used parts marketplace. Yet...
I’ve been contemplating the refinishing of the interior metal door surfaces and rear upper panels on my 67 GTX with metallic red upholstery. My trim tag has a Q under u. From the 67 color charts below I found on another thread I assume this is QQ1 dark metallic red - correct? What do the...
Someone might want to check out this Hemi GTX. Looks pretty original ( and worn) but all there.
1967 Plymouth GTX Hardtop Hemi 4-Speed
Some old body damage and antenna in wrong place but doesn't Look rusted and pretty clean underneath.
A Canadian car.
Had a color change and factory AC is missing in action but a pretty nice looking car overall. Looks like a good amount of money has gone into the car.
1967 Dodge Coronet R/T Coupe
After getting the valves lashed and finding a video recorder that didn’t overly magnify and harshen the sound, I think this thing finally sounds pretty decent. The PO had the valves lashed down to where it almost sounded like hydraulics. Exhaust is stock Accurate.
1966 Plymouth Satellite 426 Hemi 4-Speed
Seems bidding stalled out kind of early on this car that has obviously had considerable money spent on it over the last 20 years. The $125,000 appraisal in 2008 on it seems BS but I guess it’s in Canadian dollars so not sure about the exchange rate back...
I know green doesn’t appeal to some but this looks like it could be a really nice car. Interesting to see how it does.
1966 Dodge Charger 426 Hemi 4-Speed
Hard to beat the shine and thoroughness of this restoration. A few minor detail corrections and it would be near perfect. Not a lot of information on codes and dates on carbs, transmission, differential, etc but I suspect someone will ask about them. The pictures don’t focus on many details...
I had the front parking light buckets on my 66 rechromed and part of the process involves cutting out the light sockets and wire lead since they get pretty much destroyed in the chroming process. Some of the members said Mike at B/E&A has the equipment to press in replacement leads and sockets...
Trying to sort out an on again/off again issue with my interior lights which seemed to have a mind of their own. Replaced the pin switches although the old ones seemed fine. Lights seemed to function normally for a couple days, and then dang, they are stuck on whenever the battery is hooked up...
I knew the Hemi engine in my 66 Satellite was not original - I figured from the casting date of 10-31-66 it was from a 67. I thought the VIN was on the back of the block above the bellhousing but I couldn’t see anything back there - hard to see - even with a bore camera. Today I noticed a...
My 66 Satellites trim had a few areas of sketchy black paint in the grooves and I wasn’t looking forward to repainting the black trim. So I came up with another idea and purchased some 1/8” wide black vinyl tape used for laying out charts and tables on white boards. Turned out to work great...
When I purchased a FSM for my 66 I was surprised the Hemi was not covered in it and was in a later supplement. But I was also surprised the 440 isn’t covered in the engine section either - but the 426 wedge was. I guess there wasn’t much advance info given to the writers of the manuals by the...
The 66 Plymouth’s have the front, interior trim blacked out. Were regular plated trim screws used to attach it or did Plymouth use blackened screws. I suspect just regular plated screws but mine may have been changed out over the years.
My car has smaller (shorter handle) cranks on the rear windows which I suspect are vent cranks off a 66 “C” body. But just to make sure Mother Plymouth didn’t do something weird in 66 I’ll ask the question - window crank handle lengths front and rear should be the same correct. My 67 has the...
Still putting my Satellite back together after wiring harness replacement which through mission creep led to a bunch of other while-I-have-it-apart work including hauling some parts to the chrome shop where they remain and is stalling reassembly of some areas. I remember before I started that...
