I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I sourced a 72 rear end (8 3/4) and spring hangers, and got new leafs from ESPO for a 72... all for my 73 Charger. Yeah, I'm not hip on those isolators either.
It's a little bit down the road, but I too will be looking for a good-fitting set of headers for my 3rd gen Charger.. so I appreciate the discussion and the advice.
I know there's no way I'm shelling out TTI money, so I'm already looking at my options.
(sorry - late response).. As I was working on the interior of my 73 Charger... to my surprise, mine's the same. It only latches on one side. Doesn't seem like a great design, but like the gentleman from WA stated: the big 3 were getting cheap heading into the malaise era.
Oh, it's easy: It all starts when an electron and a proton get drunk and boink one night... they make little neutrons that run back and forth between mama proton and papa electron. Right??
Great idea... thanks Mike. I have a solid grasp of residential and machine electrical, but admittedly am a bit weak when it comes to automotive electrical. For a guy whose been a professional machine electrician for over 35 years, it's kind of embarrassing really.
I have a (Gold) rear seat back from a 3rd gen Charger SE. Needs recovered, but the frame is in great shape! $50 No shipping; pickup at 44254 or I can deliver within a reasonable distance.
Where I grew up in PA, we did the same thing to the Duster, Volare and LeBaron. I'd probably do the same today, but my old Mopars NEVER see Winter or salt. My daily driver (truck) has 4wd, so no need to swap to Winter treads.
