Got rid of the mineral spirits in my Saftety Kleen vat finally....

I know I clicked the 'quote' button before this post but anyways....the diesel here doesn't smell like the diesel of old. Not much sulfur anymore and bio added in now. I've had my diesel pickup since around 2001 and the smell of the exhaust isn't bad to me. One thing I don't like much is the...

Got rid of the mineral spirits in my Saftety Kleen vat finally....

Seems the diesel here isn't so pungent these days....maybe because most of the sulfur has been removed and has that bio crap mixed in. The MS was making things 'sticky' especially if I left something in a can to soak.....and probably for too long. The diesel is cheap (3 bucks per gallon) and...

    8 3/4 end play adjustment

When I finally because a machinist (ha) and finally acquired a dial indicator I checked my 'feel'.......it was pretty close but on the loose side which isn't bad compared to being on the tight side and risk having a problem out on the highway on a really hot day. Never had an issue.

Well, people quit going to the mom and pop hardware stores for the big box stores that were supplied by cheap China made crap and the mom and pop stores couldn't compete....plus, too many 'do it yourselfers' didn't want to do it yourself anymore.

    Engine bored 30 thousands over

When I was stationed in Germany and 'maned' the West Gate one night I could hear something coming up the 2 lane 'highway' from a good ways off (secondary roads were 60 mph or 100 clicks) and as it got closer to the turnoff into the base, it got much quieter. He barely idled it up to the gate...
