    Strange discoloration on header tubes

Header primary tubes on cylinders 2 and 4 have some strange discoloration on the header tubes. very close to where the plug wires are. I have angled ceramic plug boots on all other wires but it was too tight on these cylinders, so I used regular firecore rubber boot 90 deg wires. Never seen...

1968 Charger NSS, should I get ground signal in Park?

1968 Charger, I believe it is the original trans. It has the 1-post NSS connector. All the wiring is new, but I don't think it's a wiring problem. New shifter and shifter cable. It's a big block car if that matters. I was trying to start it for the first time in a long while but could not...

    727 rebuild cost and recommendations

I took my 727 in to a reputable shop for a teardown and peek inside. As suspected, it's a bit worn out. I got a quote of $850 out the door for a rebuild, but don't yet have a detailed parts list, but I'm assuming that's all the clutches and bands. I'd like to do this once, so I'm looking for...

Torque converter bolts rounded off. What are my options?

440 with 727. Trying to separate engine and trans. 2 of the torque converter to flex plate bolts are starting to round over. They are in there pretty tight, as you would hope. :) Not much room in there to get a ratchet. I will keep at it, but if they end up rounded off what are my options...

    Let's play: What's this bracket?

Found in the engine compartment bolted to the driver's side frame rail, pretty much directly under the brake m/c. Pretty beefy, looks like 1/8" steel. I had a look through the FSM but didn't see a reference. My apprentice is unbolting it in the first pic so you can get an idea of location...

Driveshaft with massive flange at yoke/trans end?

Any idea what this massive flange would be for? It's so big it wouldn't fit through the driveshaft hoop. I am replacing the floor so it was easier to cut it out than try and unbolt it.

Looking for feedback on 440Source roller rockers

At the end of the good weather season I had a problem with one of my crane gold roller rockers and it died a sad death. I'm looking for another set now and came across the 440Source roller rockers for what seems to be around half the cost ($320 incl. shims, spacers and alum. hold-downs)...

New to me 440, need help with diagnosis

Hello all, First off, new to all of this. Learning as I go, but still very novice. Or if there's something below novice, that's me. I recently bought a '68 Charger w/ a 440. Don't know a whole lot about the motor besides the following: - Not original block - Bored .30 over - Aluminum...
