I agree with this. I had scary gas tank implosions (bang) and gas pouring out the filler neck on my '72 on hot days just because the prior owner dickwad capped the vent line and removed the charcoal canister. The 1972 Chrysler-designed charcoal canister/expansion tank configuration was (a...
Hi guys and gals, long shot I know. Looking for my first Charger back in 77 or and was so a 69 Charger, Gold, black vinyl roof, black interior, 383 2bbl.
Bought and sold in the late 70's in NW Ohio. I lived in Bowling Green.
I've noticed a place to look is on the front frame rails just below and behind where the upper control arm is. Particularly the rear mounting. Down on the frame rail you'll see a drain hole there that lets water into the inside of the frame rail. There are drain holes further back, but it still...
Speaking of alternators, the new one is a duralast reman from Autozone. Very good quality job. I think it was $81. Fits in much better than the old one.. no gaps in spacers, no shimming. I'm starting to be a Duralast fan. Water pump is new Duralast also.
Well, the fan is easy to turn. Think maybe the pully is glazed, needs some more sanding perhaps. Was thinking of trying a different type belt too. I have new gates with the knobby contact side. Maybe a smooth one would be better.
Well I'll be dipped (as Derek would say)
I took both belts off and started it up and no screech! I guess it was a belt squeak issue after all! Specifically, the alt, WP and main pully one is the problem one since I already removed the PS belt earlier in my ordeal. I'll try a different brand I...
Hello guys and gals.. I have developed a very loud screeching noise at cold startup when reving. The condition seems to go away after a few minutes of driving, but I am worried now and I'm trying to prep the Charger for Carlisle trip.

Well, I put the cap on from my old radiator, a 16 psi unit that looks better made than the Cold Case one. I drove around for a half hour and let it do about 15 minutes of hot idle. This time, gauge never reached half, and no rumbling and bumbling coolant in the recovery tank. Really only a small...
Not overheating according to the dash gauge (factory). It could be bubbling, looks pretty dramatic when it's happening. I'll take temp of coolant if it happens again.
