Talking of strokers, this is well Hardcore stuff indeed!
The Hinkles 426ci Poly engine...
600hp and a hemi beater out of a Poly engine.
We built the UK's only 402ci Poly stroker for our 66 Coronet 4-speed.
So if you are going to build exotic strokers them ''make it worthwhile doing'' we always...
The turned down 440 crankshaft was for a 451 in a 400 block.
It was Koffel's favourite engine with 452 iron heads highly ported.
They ran mid tens all day long in the 90's, but now the S/B guys are getting those times with 318 blocks!
It just goes to show how limiting the 440 iron head was and...
Its like the 80's and 90's all over again.
Hybrid stroker Mopar engines with Chevy and Ford parts!
Just buy a balanced kit from 440 Source and throw it in your block, its dead simples...
Yep we all have a 440 turned down crank and stuff waiting for a custom build.
But a 512ci kit...
hello Bryan,
Got to just love a 512ci engine its a perfect street/stripper!
We have one in a 66 Polara at the moment down in London Town UK.
Edelbrock heads and a Crower street roller 0.550 camshaft.
My mate in Sutton has just had his identical 512 built too.
Thats in a street/strip barracuda...
Nice replies guys!
So the 402ci set-up should be fine and maybe the 8 3/4 will let go first.
Gonna run a 528ci hemi in my Duster with a 23 spline A-body box, wonder how long that will last???:mob:
hello all 4-speed lovers,
I'm gonna fit a 23 spline behind my stroker 402 Poly.
How much HP and or torque will a 23 spliner take?
Thanks in advance.
ps 11 inch clutch and flywheel for a 66 car.
Best head ever made and only for one year how strange?
There are a few slightly different 516 castings I have found and the 67 ones have the larger exhaust ports like the 915!
The earlier 516 are very restricted on the exhaust and any porting breaks through pretty quick.
I have run mid tens...
Wow what a great read, folks talking sense for once!
Yep the best Mopar is the 71 GTX and that's a fact.
The Hellcat of its day indeed.
Never had a new car and never will, me just living in the long lost past...:mob: pre oil crisis...
I might just get my old girl electrified (71 GTX) just to...
hello Moparfolks,
I broke my bearing retainer on my 66 Coronet A833 trans.
Its a 4.8oo 23 spline transmission, (Throw out support).
Anyone got a spare please they can sell me?
Many thanx from PolyJohn
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy!
As a Brit, my biggest ambition when visiting America was...
Standing on a corner in Winslow AZ, just had to got there...
I gotta know that your sweet love is gonna save me!
Didn't want to be stoned by two women though...:mob:
Wanted please a pair of outer sixpack carbs.
4783 are the ones I would like to get to match my 4782.
But any outers in any condition would be helpful please.
best wishes from John
Yep factory supplied tyres always last longest!
Seen them do 50,000 miles and twenty years with careful driving.
My new tyres on my GTX were showing sidewall cracks after two years!!!
I guess lack of use makes the issues worse as rubber is a organic compound...:mob:
I have checked all my Mopar blocks ranging from 273 all the way up too the mighty 440's.
All have lifter bore issues, some maybe 'one or two' sloppy bores to some with over half that are suspect.
I don't see much chat about this problem on the relative Mopar sites?
I guess most folks are...
I only have Paypal and buy all my parts from America this way!
Some sellers won't send their stuff to the UK for any price...
Ebay.com has disowned the UK for international shipping and that is a disaster!
Its getting very hard to buy resto and racing parts from you guys these days...:poke:
Nice Poly work everyone!
We have a 402cube Poly that Gary Pavlovich helped us build.
Got a trick Shneider camshaft at 0.525 lift but the lifter bores are shot.
Hoping to find a LIFTER-BORE re-bushing kit from somewhere we hope to sort out the problem.
Best wishes from Poly John
