The 440 Sixpack engine is a formidable engine package especially with the aftermarket cylinder heads that flow so much better than the factory heads do. We found a picture of my friends 440 Sixpack Challenger R/T running 11.78 back in the day with little modifications from stock.
Most of them didn't. I believe that the 70 Charger R/T V code 440 Sixpack production numbers are 347 4 speed cars, and 337 automatic cars. My car is one of the 337 automatic cars built. I have converted mine to a 4 speed car and upgraded the rear axle to a Dana 60 with 3.54 gears.
I know that there has been more drama in my 45 plus years of doing this hobby between friends with cars, parts and personal schit that happened, so in some cases the drama is real, others just manufactured bullsh*t.
Way to go KD. We need to inspire the next generations interest in the hobby. I gave my friends son a 71 Charger after Carlisle this year, when he told me he was priced out of the Mopar project car market after seeing the prices of cars and parts at the show.
