"Broken in".
I blow out the left knee in all mine. I'm 6'4", everything is too damned short in this world, and my right leg doesn't bend as well as the left due to surgeries and implants...so when I need to do something down low, I'm on my left knee.
My uncle was a renowned surgeon. So was my grandfather. Never met granddad but my uncle always said "yeah...I know, but dammit it makes me happy so leave me alone".
Guess what killed him?
Reminds me of the fuel tank in my wagon. Ma Mopar was smart and put it in the driver's quarter panel behind the rear wheel, like a suitcase. Everything the tire kicks up... PLINK, right into the bottom of the tank.
In college (early 90s), I patched a bunch of pinholes with JB weld.

So wait.
I looked but can't find it anywhere else...was Clint the anonymous buyer of the Bullitt mustang?
Other articles I read after seeing this - trying to find out about the mustang - said he does own a Gran Torino. Maybe the one from the movie - car articles by non-car publications are...
Check for intake leaks. Carb base, manifold gaskets, vacuum hoses. Depending how old and brittle they are...cold could shrink them enough to leak. Think cold header gaskets...tic (leak) when cold, silent (sealed) when warmed up.
Treat it like an auction. Have your limit ready to go in cash and work up to it. Either he'll say "sure" at some point...or he wants more than you want to spend, and he won't say "sure".
Dryer sheets around the engine bay. Bounce works best, but any will do - and they smell better than mothballs. Just don't put them anywhere so hot, they could flash-burn. Pack around the inner fenders, under harnesses, around the battery, along the firewall. Old RV trick to keep critters away....
The '70 Charger (bone stock 318 2v) gets pump 87. Runs fine, no ping, no smoke, no stumble.
Wrangler 4.0 has a usual diet of pump 87, but sometimes pings so it'll get an occasional tank of 89 or 93, depending on $, with a shot of cleaner additive until I can pull and clean the injectors and...
I've been dead once...every day is a gift. Died in an accident at 34; 52 now. Too ornery to go anywhere, and when I do I plan to do it at 200 mph with (what's left of) my hair on fire. Still own (and ride) my 0-60 in under 2 seconds sportbike, and don't plan to give it up anytime soon.
We lost...
New Year vacation, FL keys
First stop, St Augustine Beach
Then...southward!
Finally the sun came out and the top came off....
And when the temp came up...off went the doors!
And now that vacation is over...Maryland weather again...
Do you take valve springs off when the valve is open? Or closed? Compress a spring and there is more potential energy in it. It wants to return to its relaxed state. Same with a spring on a screen door - extend it, and it wants to return to its relaxed state.
Torsion bars are the same. The...
