I've got a 73 dual snorkel with a black replacement lid plus I have a rusted Direct Connection piece I'll be sand blasting.
It would be nice to go to Lowes or Wally's and find something real close.
Wally's in particular has a very wide selection of Krylon and a few others.
So they are supposed to be THE quality piece.
What were your experiences?
The quality of the materials looks great.
Here's the but-
The outside edge (there is a groove in the middle of the horizontal surface) nerest the glass is wider that the stock part that came off.

The "Who pays 10K for a paint job" thread got me thinking.
There have GOT to be resources for us folks that don't want or need a concours quality paint job.
Let's use the power of the internet to share info about who does good driver quality work and where.
As stated elsewhere, my car needs...
I remember some heated discussions about the location of the passenger side mirrors.
Several folks claimed that they were mounted farther back than the driver's side.
This did not sound right to me.
Here's my unmolested, original paint 67 wagon with factory dual mirrors.
They are both 5 inches...

For the cost of sending my brake booster out, I could probably do half a dozen myself.
I'm going to need all the bumpers for my 73 Satellite.
The round ones and the wedge shaped ones.
My brother put some on his 66 and they didn't last 2 years before crumbling in the FL humidity, Even though it's garage kept. Not sure what brand they were.
I'd like to avoid that if possible...
I watched a youtube video from a guy called "The GunMan" about removing runs in paint.
He spoke with a pretty thick down under accent.
His trick was to apply "fine filler" over the runs to create something to protect the finish on either side of the run from being sanded down to metal.

A google search returned one hit on FABO.....
About how much paint to do three coats on a B body engine compartment?
This is my first time painting anything this big.
Kind of intimidated.
Ready to do it , though.
All blasted, primed, masked.
I bought a gallon of single stage thinking I'd...
What's the best way to remove the goo that oozes out of the brain (ECU) and voltage regulator?
I'm guessing bug and tar remover might work.
Is there a way to help keep it from happening again?
Maybe coat the back of the box with something...
Is there anything special?
I picked up a "factory" Super Pursuit hood for my Dakota.
Interestingly, it's from one of the few (12?) red ones.
The other several hundred were blue with white stripes.
Anyway, I've never worked with fiberglass before, and I need to strip it so I can paint...
I've never used Bondo before.
I'll be attempting to fill several small dents in a non-rusted area of a hood, and then I'll be patching some rust holes with new metal, and will probably need a skim coat to even up the patches.
What's the diference between the following products...
Hey guys, I just bought a Roadrunner hood for my 73 Sat.
There are some minor rust holes (about 1/8 inch) right on the front lip.
I'm having a tough time finding a heavy cart or work bench that's big enough and high enough to set it on while I sand, grind, and weld on it.
My brother has...
it just occured to me that there's a lot of surface overlap where the quarter meets the rocker, but no spot welds. From the bottom of the rocker, it looks like lead. What about on the side? What do you guys do?
Quite a while ago I had a friend that did decent body work and swore by Dura-Glass. I've also seen it mentioned recently on this board.
All I can find around here that might be similar is Dyna De-Lite.
Is it comprable?
Thanks.
The roof on my 73 is pretty bad.
Scaly and pitted.
I'm using a 3M fiber wheel and a sandblaster.
When I did the 66, I didn't have a blaster, so it was just the fiber wheel.
The 66 wasn't nearly as bad, but there were black flecks that wouldn't come out no matter what. It's been painted for...
I need to run a set of rallyes that have more surface rust spots than I care to see.
I'd like to do a quick blast and paint before I put them on.
Is there a locally available (Lowes, Autozone, Napa, etc) paint in a can that is close "enough" to the correct color of Argent?
I really don't want...
What are you guys using to do this? I have an old school unshielded die grinder with a 1/8" wheel. It works but more and flatter surface might be better. My brother was using an electric angle grinder with a cup style wheel (but then he just recently stopped crimping and lapping panel seams)...
How similar are the cowl areas between 71-74 Charger/RR and 70-74 Challenger/Cuda? I see AMD has pretty much the whole thing for E bodies (cowl, firewall, door posts), and it looks real similar. Any one ever tried to use one or measure them?
