I'm putting together a new set of 3.55's, Yukon R & P, New Timken bearings, new Auburn sure grip. I'm having trouble with the pinion bearing preload. It's either 55 in. lbs or about zero. The preload shims in the kit go in .005" steps. At .045" it has no preload, spins easy. At .050" it...

So, I have a leak at the pinion seal. The FSM has a procedure - check the rotating torque in in.lbs without the wheels/drums, r & R the real, retorque to X not to exceed the initial reading, etc. Has anyone ever done this successfully?
I'm looking for a Miller SP-3630 input shaft bushing remover tool. I'm in the middle of a 727 rebuild and there's a bit of play there. Or, anyone have one that they can measure for me? The bushing end looks like a tap - threads into the bushing and it then pulls out. Thanks in advance.
