Yes: I used to put a mist of DP40 on and Centari Hemi Orange over that, I ran out of it a couple years ago and tried spray bombs again. The Spray bombs are unacceptable, lets just say that.
I usually pull the hood by myself. I put moving blankets on both fenders, plywood on top of that to protect the fenders and windshield and hook the engine hoist to the hood catch using a fan belt. Undo the bolts and swing the hood around. Work carefully but it is easier to do than explain.
Clean and verify. Shift selector seal is another common leak spot. Any leak can be repaired but ATF is really thin and travels well so the most important part is verifying where it is leaking.
Yes: I did it in my 71. It's been awhile, had to take the steering wheel off. Probably dropped the column down to pull the instrument cluster out but I can't remember for sure. It took time I remember that.
Looks to me like he's working on it in the shop, hasn't cleaned the exterior yet so he can't get us shots any better than a Facebook flipper does just yet. I like what I see so far anyway.
Without looking it up again the Passon unit has ratios the same as a 727 for first, second and third with a 2.66 first I believe. They drive really nice. The factory OD had 3.09 first then a big jump to second and a smaller jump to third which is direct, same as the Passon. We ran the Passon...
I tried to watch that video but it mixed in different cars (some even the wrong year) and the facts seemed pretty murky. The Ferraris seemed plausible but it sounded like a a few domestics were maybe the same year and model as the real movie cars. Nonetheless if half of it is true he does like...
Are you stupid? A 3.09 first gear will get out of the hole fine it doesn't matter if it's a "performance trans" or an "EPA trans". Ratios are ratios. The splits between ratios suck on the factory OD trans.
Maybe wrench and drive these cars a bit and watch less You tube. Have you driven one of...
As stated above. The first thing to do is make sure pivot balls are not worn out, pivot ball bushings are new and linkage holes are not wallowed out. These cars are getting really old and there's lots of chances for things not being tight. Personally I don't expect them to shift and clutch like...
With the ratio split into OD I don't think powershifting it would be very satisfying anyway. I would pretty much drive it like a 3 speed even drag racing it, Just put it into OD on the freeway. The Passon OD 4 speed has better ratios but of course costs a lot more money.
I always told my son to work hard and be proud of the job you do no matter what. Also look for something better if you're not happy. We spend too much time at work (whether for someone else or yourself) to be unhappy there.
At the end of my working career (past 50) I was lucky enough to find...
I made that mistake initially on my 69 GTX, I drilled both sides to match. Fortunately i immediately seen the error of my ways and repaired my mistake while still in primer.
If you use the same measurements on both sides, one emblem will be placed incorrectly because the pegs are not uniform...
Yes: I always thought it looked cool on the quarter panel. First thing I did when I had my 67 GTX painted. It may have been a bit of a GM thing though as it seemed to be a factory option on a lot of GM products in the 60's.
Yup: I plan to die in my Viper, at 200MPH. Getting old is nice if you're healthy but I like to be in control of my situation if possible. My Dad enjoyed driving and was one of the best drivers (of any sort of vehicle) and equipment operators out there. When he told me at about 85 that he didn't...
