Excellent! Doncha just love seeing their squinty little eyes all glazed over? It's starting to cool off over here, time to get back on the traps. I got a pair of two-fers a month ago, first time ever.
Howdy Folks! It's time to get working on my 72 Coronet Wagon. For background, this is an all-original survivor car that's going to get some updates and upgrades, but nothing radical. It's a 318 car and will stay that way, being used as a just a fun car and cruiser.
First project is to replace...
Just a lil' freezing rain from last winter :) . Slicker than snot on a doorknob. I wanted to get to the shop for a beer (that's where the keg lives). It was many dicey minutes to get over there where of course I kept the shoe cleats for walking on this stuff.
I have one, but I'm not near Ohio. It's been cleaned, threads chased, and primed. The only pic I have handy is from just after painting it, it still had tape and thread blockers on it. Shoot me a PM if interested.
That's the one. It was in Prescott, where I have a friend that would have let me park it at her place till I could get down there to retrieve it. Owner would not let me do a compression check or anything else that would give me an idea of its condition. That three-on-the-tree was a strong...
I used the S&M Electro Tech mounting plate for my front speakers. If no one has told you, you have to call them to order this part. Anyway, I'm a longtime audiophile and am very happy with how my tunes turned out in the wagon. Here's a shot of the speakers and plate in place. Speakers are...
When I started looking for a wagon, I was after a 70 Coronet. I came within a whisker of buying one, but the seller was a colossal dick so I walked away. Later, I found this 72 Coronet and am really happy with it. After lots of reflection I decided my preference was for the streamlined rear...
I did the same, it's amazing how well it lights up everything. I felt the LED's were too bright directly in my eyes, kind of like getting oncoming high beams at night. So I got some of this white plastic angle molding from Lowes and laid it down next to the LED strips. It works like a...
Haha, this car is about a 4500 pound pig with me, my sweetie, the tool bag, and a full tank of gas. Shaving weight might be nice but I'd have to get a lot of it off to make a difference. This question came about because I'm swapping the 904 out for a 42RH and saw the thing but couldn't figure it...
Hey Dustin - sadly, I know all too well about mission creep. I have all the stuff I need to do a full 4-bbl upgrade with some other goodies and already while I'm under the car tonight the little imp in my ear is whispering how much easier it would be to do it ALL NOW and don't wait. Haha, says...
I'm in the process of pulling the 904 out of my 72 Coronet Wagon to replace it. At the rear of the unit by the yoke is this big round metal thing on a bracket. It's a pretty significant chunk of metal. Anyone know what it's for, and if it needs to go back on the 42RH I'm installing?
