Bolted down the lift columns today. Floor was not level so a couple of shims were needed. Ten bolts torqued to 125 ft/lbs would not have been a problem ten years ago. Today, they kicked my *** a little but they are bolted down and plumb all around. Guess I am starting to show my age a little...
This sounds like a TIG job. Look around for a local shop that can aluminum weld for a permanent repair. That crack should not take more than 30 minutes for them to fix, including time to properly clean the area.

Just finished putting up the last sheet of OSB! Installed 37 sheets with 36 screws per sheet (1332 screws total) and every sheet had to be cut. The better half had to help with just 1 sheet. Perfect! I was originally going all the way to the ceiling but now I am going to use 1/2" foam board...
